New for August

New August entries are devoted to stories from the Hebrew Scriptures. You can find ten images of art works from the Sacred Art Pilgrim Collection on Old Testament themes in the Bible Stories & Parables section. On The Garden of Eden page, there are three paintings of Adam and Eve by American Outsider Artists Rudolph Valentino Bostic, Jerry Coker, and Myrtice West, and two small format prints of Eve by Czech Graphic Artist Jaroslav Vodrazka. You can view another West painting of Noah's Ark and the animals in The Great Flood section, along with a linocut of the Ark by Czech Printmaker Josef Weiser and an etching by Bulgarian Graphic Artist Peter Velikov. There are two more cardboard panel paintings by Bostic to be found in the Daniel in the Lions' Den and The Rescue of Baby Moses pages in the Heroes of the Bible gallery. The Fall of Humanity in the Garden of Eden is the theme of a new meditation in the Art Reflections gallery of the Moments with Masters section, describing an etching of Adam and Eve by Belarus Artist Ivan Rusachek. This month's featured illustrator is W. Fletcher White. Six color and black and white illustrations in an Art Deco style have been added to the Bible Stories & Parables section. They were published in 1934 in Old Testament Stories by Viola White. (John Kohan)
