New for September

The feast of St. Michael and All Angels, also known as Michaelmas, falls on September 29, so, this month's new offerings are all about angels. You can find a meditation about angels, titled From Realms of Glory, in the Themes of Faith section, accompanied by 37 angelical images from the Sacred Art Pilgrim Collection. These include a fine art drypoint print from German Artist Lovis Corinth, a serigraph from American Printmaker Sister Mary Corita Kent, folk art parchment paintings from Ethiopia, reversed applique stitched molas from the Kuna people of Panama, a painting and drawing from Outsider Artist Purvis Young, a "found object" metal cut-out from Missionary Mary Proctor, a cardboard panel painting by Visionary Artist Rudolph Valentino Bostic, and a trio of ink drawings from Romanian Artist Ovidiu Kloska. The story of Jacob's wrestling match with a heavenly stranger, recorded in Genesis 32:22-31, has been added to the Heroes of the Bible page in The Bible Stories & Parables section.  I have also uploaded a feature on Young Tobias and the Angel Raphael from the book of Tobias (Tobit) to the Heroes of the Bible section.
