My text and image additions for the month of October center on the theme of Christ the Miracle Worker. You will find two new pages in the Miracles of Christ gallery of the Life of Christ section. "Restoring New Life" tells the stories of how Jesus raised the son of the widow of Nain (Luke 7) and the daughter of Jairus (Mark 5) from the dead, illustrated with an etching by American Artist Earl Stetson Crawford, a wood engraving by French Printmaker Louis Jou, a lithograph by German Expressionist Otto Dix, and some fine vintage Bible Story Book illustrations. "Walking of Water" reprints the Matthew 14 text, describing Jesus' walk on water and the Apostle Peter's clumsy attempt to follow him, alongside images of a cardboard painting by American Visionary Artist Rudolph Valentino Bostic and a mixed media sculpture by American Outsider Artist Tim Hitchcock. A new introduction has been added to the "Healing the Sick" page, taken from Mark 1, with a woodcut by English Artist Mabel Allington Royds, a mixed media painting by German-American Illustrator Arthur Ernst Becher, and a wood engraving by French Printmaker Jacques Beltrand. I have also added a new Ethiopian leather painting to the "Feeding the Five Thousand" page and an etching of the Miracle at Cana by American Printmaker Crawford to the "Turning Water into Wine" page. This month's featured illustrator is Elsie Anna Wood. There are five new Wood illustrations in the Miracles of Christ gallery, taken from a special issue on Christ's Miracles, published as part of the Gospel Picture Book series by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge in London.
