This month's art offerings from the Sacred Art Pilgrim Collection are devoted to two great prophets of the Hebrew Scriptures: Moses and Elijah. You can now find a page on Moses' fiery call to go to Egypt, Moses and the Burning Bush, and on the flame-filled end to Elijah's ministry, Elijah and the Chariot of Fire, in the Heroes of the Bible gallery in the Bible Stories & Parables section. The texts of these two Old Testament narratives are accompanied by a diverse selection of art pieces and vintage illustrations, including a oil on panel piece by American Painter Edward Knippers; a mixed media on recycled cardboard work by Southern American Visionary Artist Rudolph Valentino Bostic; an oil on panel painting by French Cubist Miguel Deveze; an iconic painting on wood by New Mexican Saintmaker Vincente Telles; and two etchings by American Graphic Artist Ben-Zion from his 1950s print series on the prophets.
