New for August 2018

For those of you who have not had the chance to spend any vacation time this summer admiring the beauties of nature, I have four new images to offer from the Sacred Art Pilgrim Collection in August depicting the Creation of the World in the opening chapter of the Book of Genesis. Southwestern American Saint-Maker Marie Romero Cash shows six acts of the Creation on the rim of a Wheel of Life with a special image at the hub of the making of Adam and Eve. Supporting the wheel is a portrait of Christ the Eternal Word, without whom, as we know from John 1:3 (KJV), "was not any thing made that was made." Czech Graphic Artist Jaroslav Dajc depicts a Christ-like Creater busy on the fifth day bringing the birds of the air and fish of the sea to life, while the Eye of Providence keeps watch. Canadian Painter Juliya Talinovsky presents the Life Force generating the natural world as a brilliant sunburst with multicolored rays. British Artist Frank Humphrey Allen shows a beneficent God at rest on the seventh day (left), surveying the work of his hands and proclaiming it good. A snake creeping from the left hints at the peril to come in Paradise. This quartet of new creation artworks can be viewed on the In the Beginning page of the Old Testament Tales gallery of the Bible Stories & Parables section. (John Kohan)
